About Elsie Encarnacion
Elsie Encarnacion, born and raised in East Harlem, has spent over a decade working tirelessly for District 8. As the daughter of a public school educator and a product of the local public schools, she knows firsthand the value of education, opportunity, and community support.

Experience and Impact
Over her career, Elsie has fought to bring essential resources to East Harlem and the South Bronx. Her tenure as Chief of Staff to Deputy Speaker Diana Ayala, along with her previous roles in education and community organizing, prepared her to lead with heart and purpose. Her leadership on Community Board 11, Union Settlement, and Innovation High School, among others, highlights her commitment to building a strong, resilient District 8.
